Stress dreams I've been having:

Sorting through different stamps, trying to figure out how much postage is and pasting a half dozen gift tag sized stamps on an envelope to make it add up. (I had to google the cost of postage this morning. 42 cents.)

Trying to save a hamster's life. It pooped a lot.

Defending my love for New England to someone who was trying to make me move. I was dramatically insisting that I could never live anywhere else. This? Is not even remotely true.

There was more, but I forget. Probably for the better. These have all been taking place in the hour of sleep I grab here and there since I've been a raging insomniac all week.

Someone suggested melatonin. Any other ideas that will help me chill out and sleep? I'm off coffee, just have a cup of tea in the morning. Talk to me about your drugs, people. I'm already BFF with red wine.

Bus sits in traffic and arrived at the station 5 minutes later than scheduled.

On bus, get call from Theatre Manager. There's been an explosion downtown. No power in the area. I should still head in in the event that the power come back on quickly, and to place a sign on the door for inquiring customers. Make arrangements to be let in building.

Wait for T. And wait. And wait. Many cold, angry people on platform. Poor off duty T worker is just there to take the train, but is being harassed. Something about Wellington being out of service. Train to Forrest Hills passes through without taking customers and a man leans out from the platform to give it the finger. Genius.

Get update from revelry13. Explosion was a manhole fire. No one hurt, but 1,000+ customers are without electricity and it will most likely be several hours until power is restored.

Finally get to work and the theatre is cold dark and creepy. Hunt for flashlights. Flashlights which create shadows which make everything creepier.

More phone calls, more speculation, about to head out and spend the day with a friend when the kind NSTAR man tells us that we should be good to go in 45 minutes. I didn't think there would be any way we'd be out of this before 3pm. Prove me wrong, NSTAR, prove me wrong!

My week is over on a Friday! WEIRD.

Tomorrow, I'm off to NYC until Monday. The city is slowly creeping back into its home away from home status. Im staying with Kristin, my sister from another mister and will hopefully see some other lovely people while I'm in town. Jeremy Piven in Mamet's Speed-the-Plow is a definite along with a visit to Ellen's Stardust Diner, Sunday brunch, and coffee at a used bookstore in SoHo. The Backstreet Boys may also make an appearance in the itinerary. I'll keep you posted.

Nooooooooooooooo! I forgot to post last night! Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!

I suck.

And I'll carry on, despite the suckage.

I don't have to be at the theatre until 4, so I've been sitting on the couch in my fleece pants and a college sweatshirt watching DRVd episodes of Gossip Girl all day. It's pretty gray out and I really don't have anything pressing to do.

I'd be totally excited about working tonight if it were a single, but I'm not so much in the mood for a double.

It keeps throwing me off that the commercials in these episodes are from before the election, which already feels like a lifetime ago.

Oh, crap. It's already 2pm.

So, I've been posting from the LJ app on my iPhone. Today I looked at my journal in a regular browser for the first time in a while and I realized I've been posting obnoxiously large photos. I'm really, really sorry about that. Not sorry enough to go back and edit the entries, but at least enough that I changed the default settings in the app. Now my mundane, poor quality images will be half the size they were before. I know. You're thanking your lucky stars on that one.

I was completely out of sorts today. Actually, that's a lie. I was just cranky. It started with punching myself in the face while trying to buckle my seat belt this morning and it just kind of carried on through. How could that NOT set the tone for my day? Seriously. Luckily, calling the show tonight lifted my spirits and made me feel less like joining the Peace Corps/moving to Portland/building a cabin in the woods. That is until I missed my T stop on the way home and tacked on an extra twenty minutes to my commute. I'm so awesome at getting in my own way.

And it really does taste like homemade red velvet, cream cheese frosting and all. Don't be frightened by the color, either. It's a very sheer and flattering red. It looks to be a universally wearable shade, but I can only speak for light to medium olive skinned girls. Yeah, I said light. I'm dreadfully pale already and if I weren't so dedicated to my skin regimine (also Philosophy! Woo!), I'd probably be taking a bath in self tanner every day until bikini season is back. Laziness and clumsiness may also be factors here. As well as a disliking for orange palms and stripes. What do you mean it sounds like I've tried that before? Ahem. Goodnight.

So, after several weeks of truly horrifying food choices, I'm attempting to get my act together. And you know it must have been ugly if I felt like I was going overboard because, let's face it, I wasn't exactly borrn with healthy food instincts.

The thing is, the real wakeup call was that I was sick of feeling like crap. Here I am coming off two solid days of good choices and I'm still exhausted by 10pm. What gives? I know it's only two days, but just a smidge of instant gratification would really help the motivation here.

Oh well. To fruit and whole grains! Whee!
